How to Enter:

  • Pledge any amount during the WGVU NPR's Spring Membership Drive from March 18, 2025, through March 23, 2025, for an automatic entry.
  • No purchase or contribution is necessary to participate in the Sweepstake. To enter the Sweepstake without a pledge, enter-to-win by completing the form on this page, or stop by WGVU’s office in person Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (301 Fulton Street W, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49504).
  • Sustaining members and pledge contributors who do not want to participate in the Sweepstake may contact WGVU Membership at info@wgvu.org or 616-331-7291 to be removed from the drawing.
     

Eligibility:

Unless otherwise specified, the Sweepstake is open to all who are 18 years of age or older and who legally reside in the United States and are either permanent or seasonal residents of the State of Michigan. Faculty and staff of Grand Valley State University, WGVU Public Media employees, and their family members, are excluded from the Sweepstake and not eligible to win.

 

Sweepstake Information:

  1. WGVU Public Media is the organization sponsoring this Sweepstake. WGVU Public Media is a 501(c)(3) organization and the principal place of business for the station is 301 Fulton Street W, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49504.
  2. The Sweepstake will be conducted in accordance with the requirements set forth in the Michigan Statutes.
  3. The prize to be awarded has been donated to WGVU Public Media. No station funds have been used to purchase any of the prizes to be awarded.
  4. NO PURCHASE, PAYMENT, OR DONATION IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE, PAYMENT, OR DONATION WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR WINNING CHANCES. ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
     

Prize Information:

  • The Prize to be awarded is a two (2) night stay in a Superior Room at the Cartier Mansion in Ludington, MI, with breakfast included.
  • Participants and winners must waive all claims of liability against Grand Valley State University Board of Trustees, its members and affiliates, Grand Valley State University, and WGVU Public Media, for any personal loss that may occur from participation in this giveaway or during the use of a prize. If the participant provides any misinformation about their identity when entering the Sweepstake, the individual shall be legally ineligible to participate in any future giveaways conducted by Grand Valley State University or WGVU Public Media.
  • There are no substitutions, transfers, or cash equivalent for prizes. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed in the rules of the Sweepstake and do not include taxes, gratuities, other expenses, or vehicle tags.
  • The value of the prize received by the winner in a drawing is included in the winner’s gross income. All winners will receive a 1099-MISC form, and all prizes valued over $600 will be reported to the IRS.
  • Payments of all federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the Winner.
  • To reject a prize, the Winner may write to WGVU Public Media via email at info@wgvu.org or WGVU Public Media, Attn: WGVU Membership Team, 301 Fulton Street W, Grand Rapids, MI 49504, to indicate they do not want the prize offered.
  • All winners must present a valid ID when claiming their prize. Prizes can be picked up Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. All prizes, unless specified, must be picked up at WGVU Public Media's offices, located at 301 Fulton Street W, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. Grand Valley State University and WGVU Public Media are not responsible for entries not received due to internet, mail, or telephone access issues.
     

Selection of Winner:

  1. The Winner will be selected on March 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received. The drawing will be held in the WGVU Public Media's offices, located at 301 Fulton Street W, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. One entry per household for the Cartier Mansion two (2) night stay. Entries must be received by March 23, 2025, at 11:59 p.m., to be eligible to win the Cartier Mansion two (2) night stay prize.
  2. The Winner(s) will be contacted immediately following the drawing on Thursday, March 27, 2025, via phone or email provided by the Winner at the time of entry.
  3. If the Winner does not return contact by April 21, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. ET, does not accept the prize for any reason, is deemed ineligible, or fails to comply with these Official Rules, the Winner will forfeit their rights to the prize and the prize will be awarded to a substitute winner selected in a random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries. This process will be repeated, if necessary, until a winner is determined.
  4. The Winner need not be present to win. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.
  5. Only one winner per household. Winners are limited to win one WGVU Cartier Mansion two (2) night stay sweepstake prize per calendar year.
  6. The Winner agrees to participate in the promotion of the sweepstakes event or gift won as a prize; including, but not limited to, the use of his or her name, photograph or likeness.
