Teaching the 2024 Election with PBS LearningMedia

With intense energy and polarization characterizing our upcoming presidential election, navigating political topics as educators can feel overwhelming!
It is imperative to be able to answer students' questions and help them engage in informed, diplomatic discussions around the issues, facts and candidates, but finding the right resources to lay the foundation for these practices can be incredibly difficult and time-consuming. Ensuring learning materials provide well-researched, balancedinformation that students will find engaging and easy to understand does not have to require additional effort from you.
As a former AP United States Government and Politics teacher, I have gone through PBS LearningMedia’s collections, and curated a list of what I believe to be the most useful materials for teaching grades 3-12 about the election.
