Rachel Crowther

Democratic Candidate for Michigan's House of Representatives in Michigan's 90th Congressional District for the 2026 Michigan General Election.

Rachel Crowther is a lifelong Michigander, local small business owner, community leader, and current Courtland Township Trustee with deep roots in the Rockford area. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for bringing people together, strengthening communities, and leading with integrity, transparency, and compassion.

Before entering public office, Rachel built an award-winning career in hospitality, earning the 2016 Joe Tomaselli Hotelier of the Year award. Today, she is the co-owner of Aptitude Fitness + Yoga in downtown Rockford, where she helps create a welcoming space focused on health, wellness, and community connection.

Rachel's commitment to service extends well beyond her business. She serves as Vice President of the Rockford Area Community Foundation, helping invest in projects that make local communities healthier and stronger. She has also served on the Courtland Township Parks Committee, Experience Grand Rapids, and the Kent County Lodging Association, and has volunteered with numerous community initiatives, including Rockford's Got Talent.

The daughter of a public school teacher and a firefighter and Air Force Veteran. Rachel was raised with a deep appreciation for public service, hard work, and giving back. As a wife, mother, educator, mentor, and elected official, she understands the everyday challenges facing working families. She believes government should work for people, not political parties, corporate interests, or special interests.

Rachel is committed to building strong local economies, protecting rural communities, strengthening public education, expanding access to affordable healthcare, and ensuring every voice is heard. She believes the best solutions come from listening, collaborating, and leading with a focus on community first.

Lynn Afendoulis

Republican Candidate for Michigan's House of Representatives in Michigan's 90th Congressional District for the 2026 Michigan General Election.

Lynn Afendoulis is a lifelong resident of Kent County who had a long career in media and business, and in community leadership. She served one term as a State Representative (2019–2020) and was Tax Policy chair. 

She is the granddaughter of immigrants and the daughter of a teacher and a small business owner. She has two adult children who live in Kent County: her daughter is a teacher and her son is a welder. Her first grandchild was born in June. She lives in Rockford.
