California man arraigned on kidnapping charge in West Michigan


November 1, 2013 | AP    A 34-year-old California man has been charged with kidnapping a Michigan teenager he met online.
 
     The 13-year-old Hamilton girl was reported missing last month. Authorities say they found her with Joseph Arpin at a convenience store in Crestwood, Mo.
 
     Arpin was arraigned on a kidnapping charge in Allegan District Court on Thursday. A message seeking comment was left Friday with lawyer Fred Hunter, who represents the San Jacinto, Calif., resident.
 
     Arpin is being held on bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.
