Djibril Cisse: Learning the Language

Djibril Cisse: Learning the Language
June 25, 2010 | WGVU   Djibril and Oulimata Cisse are from Senegal.  They spoke with their adopted mother Patricia Carlin at StoryCorps in Grand Rapids last year.   Djibril came to the United States  ahead of his wife:  more than 10 years ago.  Here he talks about how he learned to speak the language of his new country.

Djibril’s wife Oulimata was finally able to join him here in the U.S. in 2008. StoryCorps interviews are archived at the library of congress.  This local segment was produced by Joseph Hinman and Rick Bierling. For more, visit StoryCorp.org.
