rock, folk and country music. Some guitarists prefer the harmonic
freedom that lies with
the simplicity of guitar, bass and drums. In jazz, there’s been a
somewhat secret tradition of adding cello into the mix, going back to
recordings of Oscar Pettiford, Charles Mingus, Eric Dolphy, Nat Adderly
and Wes Montgomery. Modern jazz guitarist Joshua
