Soul of the Movement: Jazz on MLK Jr.

January 20, 2014 | WGVU  Martin Luther King Jr. spoke about the power of jazz at the 1964 Berlin Jazz Festival:  "Jazz speaks for life...singing the songs of a more complicated urban existence.  When life itself offers no order and meaning, the musician creates an order and meaning from the sounds of the earth which flow through his instrument."  "Soul of the Movement" by the Marcus Shelby Orchestra celebrates the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
