50 years ago John Steinbeck won the Nobel Prize for literature. Penguin books is celebrating by reissuing two of his most beloved books, "Travels with Charley: In Search of America" and "The Portable Steinbeck." Steinbeck scholar and director of the Center for Steinbeck Studies at the University of San Jose has written a new introduction to "The Portable Steinbeck."
