October 12, 2012 | WGVU  Polls show President Barack Obama holds the lead in Michigan. However, after the first presidential debate the race has tightened in the state. Friday, Ann Romney visited west Michigan. One political scientist suggests that appearances by Mrs. Romney help the campaign gauge how much time and resources should be committed in a swing state where the incumbent holds the lead. It’s also an opportunity to persuade undecided seniors and women. Two groups who showed up in numbers in Hudsonville.
