March 26, 2013 | WGVU  Making mental health care a national priority is a tough sell. When the nation’s banking system was on the brink of collapse the co-sponsor of the Mental Health Parity & Addiction Equity Act of 2008 had it attached to the Troubled Asset Relief Program. You may remember it better as T.A.R.P. Either way, it was former Rhode Island Congressman Patrick Kennedy’s way of bringing awareness and delivery of mental health care to more Americans. His mission continued as quest speaker at the Economic Club of Grand Rapids.
