Ready to Learn Workshops
Learn how to use TV
as a powerful teaching tool by using activity
ideas, books and other resources in
hands-on workshops. Offered in English and Spanish. Each family receives a book for their child.
Note: Workshops and
materials are free, however refreshments, promotion
and childcare (if desired) are at host’s
expense unless otherwise indicated. Workshops
run about one hour, but can be modified at the
site's request. Weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays

Ready to Learn
Family Workshops
Introduces the Ready To Learn service and strategies
that families can use to help children learn while
viewing PBS Kids programs, reading books and other
print material, and doing related activities.
This workshop also introduces families to fun
activity materials based on PBS Kids shows distributed
by WGVU-TV. Presented for parents only or parents
and their 0-8 year-olds.
Ready to Learn
Caregiver/Teacher Workshops
Introduces the Ready To Learn service and strategies
that child care providers and teachers can use
in their family or group childcare setting or
in the classroom. Attendees practice using the
learning triangle of PBS Kids shows, books, and
activities, and get useful resources to help make
the most of individual series. Materials are available
for most of your favorite PBS Kids series. |
