August 4: The YMCA partnered with Spectrum’s HeartReach program to offer our first Green Growers activity of the year at WGVU’s KidsDay at the Zoo! Attendees planted seeds to take home with them – starting tiny gardens all over West Michigan.
September: Growing Kids and Families web site launches – stay tuned for updates!
September 15: WGVU met with planners at Camp Blodgett to talk about how their new garden could become part of the Project. Camp Blodgett will be planning and preparing their garden this fall and winter, and will be planting in the spring!

December 2: Mixed Greens came to WGVU's ClubHouse party and taught kids a fun activity with seeds!
December: Mixed Greens, Camp Blodgett and WGVU met to discuss progress on the garden planning. Camp Blodgett will apply to be a part of the Mixed Greens program, with funding from WGVU.
February: WGVU and the YMCA partner to promote the PBS program The Hidden Epidemic and the YMCA's Know Your Numbers Campaign.

April 21: Mixed Greens and WGVU host a groundbreaking event at Camp Blodgett! Kids and parents gathered together to start work on the new garden and to learn about new vegetables. Camp Blodgett will work with Mixed Greens all summer on a new garden learning program.
May 19: WGVU screens Fighting Fat: What No One is Telling You at the YMCA. Participants view clips from the documentary and discuss the issues of obesity with Gayla Jewell, RN with the Grand Valley State University College of Nursing and Dietician Monica Smith.
May 24: WGVU hosts a Ready To Learn workshop at the YMCA, featuring clips and activities from Sesame Street's Healthy Habits in the Neighborhood campaign.
May 30: The grant period ends, and the final report is submitted.
