A perfect match! Fulfilling our mission to educate, inform and entertain the West Michigan community while at the same time raising the dollars that are necessary to acquire the programming that helps us meet this mission.

On Thursday, June 7, 2007 WGVU devoted an entire evening of programming on the topic of “green” energy and building. We had studio guests discussing the topic and answering many of the questions that are swirling around the subject “green.”  Scroll down to see a very special, web-only Green House on Watson EXCLUSIVE video!

Take time to support WGVU now by clicking HERE and if you already have, we thank you.

Thank you to everyone that made this wonderful evening possible.

"The mission of WGVU has been to educate, to inform and entertain."
- Michael Walenta, WGVU General Manager

Our General Manager was joined by Vice President of Grand Valley State University,
Matt McLogan, to discuss what GVSU is doing in the effort to make the university more environmentaly friendly. These include the LEED certification of two of Grand Valley's buildings: the newly constructed John C. Kennedy Hall of Engineering on the Grand Rapids campus and Lake Ontario Hall on the Allendale campus; and the Grand Valley smartzone in Muskegon with the Michigan Alternative and Renewable Energy Center.

Also joining us was the owner of the night's sponsor, McIntyre Builders, and president of Green Built Michigan, Arn McIntyre. Arn has the honor of building the first home in Grand Rapids along Green standards and sees going Green to be the logical next step for his business.

Our phones were answered by the GVSU Student Environmental Coalition, employees of McIntyre Builders and Friends of WGVU.
