KATIE FAVALE

Katie Favale started volunteering for WGVU, a year ago, after moving to Grand Rapids with her family.  

Born and raised in Michigan, Katie moved to Chicago after graduating from Michigan State University.  While living in Chicago, she attended DePaul University, receiving degrees in both Biology and Chemistry. A Biologist, Katie has worked for Argonne National Laboratory, the University of Chicago and Northwestern University.  

Katie is also an avid photographer, and has displayed her work in many different venues, from galleries to art shows. “During the summer months, we love to travel and attend as many art shows as we are able,” she said.

Katie is currently a full-time mom, raising three wonderful boys, ages 10, 3 and 3. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, hiking, and exploring her new home in beautiful western Michigan.
