Kelsey has been at WGVU Public Media for four years, starting out as a production assistant for the station and eventually working her way up to a full time position as a Director/Editor, and Kelsey is a past recipient of the WGVU Scholarship. “I direct four different shows - Newsmakers, Family Health Matters, Community Connection, and Ask The… which is my absolute favorite because I love the adrenaline of live TV. I also edit almost all of the promos and underwriting credits we air. I love producing and editing promos because it gives me an opportunity to be creative. I’ve gotten to work on many fun productions here- my favorite was probably the Battle Creek Air Show in 2009, which was the perfect balance of fun and crazy,” said Kelsey.
Kelsey said she would love to keep working in production and post-production in the future. her dream job would be either to work on music videos or edit movie trailers. She graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2011 with a major in Film & Video Production. Her hobbies include listening to music and playing guitar, running & yoga, reading & watching movies and spending time with my family and friends.
“I’m originally from Onsted, MI. I have the best family in the world and I try and see them as much as possible. I currently live in Grand Rapids with my boyfriend of almost 4 years, Erik - who is the greatest guy in the world! I’ve been super thankful for all the opportunities I’ve been given at WGVU. It’s been wonderful being able to get so much hands-on experience and work with so many great people - especially all of our production assistants who help make my job easy,” said Kelsey.
